This guy sums up everything I’ve been thinking, for years.

Having been on YouTube 5+ years, you notice that the community/purpose and the content on there have changed drastically… and continue to.

It’s so great to finally see someone else re-iterating exactly what I’m thinking!

For years I’ve said “I won’t play the game” etc. I won’t do what I know will get the views/popularity…. I simply won’t do it.

I have only asked for a form of “subbing/rating” two times in total, both in 2006 and a “Please help me… vote” video for Nextup last year. It makes me feel so uncomfortable and I would prefer people to sub etc because they like me/what I do as opposed to being what they want me to be.

I have never been featured.

Promote the “little guys”. Yes please, certain individuals are constantly on the main pages.

Having hundreds of thousands of subscribers and views doesn’t make you a better creator…. But of course, you need people watching and a growing audience (although I do not refer to people as that) is really encouraging, helpful :).

I could rant for hours on this.
